About

My name is Jamila. Thank you for checking out my blog. I’m a learner living in London, and I’m working on my debut novel. I listen to a lot of music, Post-punk, Grunge and Metal to name a few genres. If you listen as well, hi-five to you. I play drums and guitar and I’d like to start my own band someday. I love to write and share my views. People often judge others without trying to get to know them. Writing with honesty helps to make people understand each other better, and break down the facade. It would be interesting for me to hear what you think. The comments section is there for a reason, don’t be afraid to say hello or give your opinions, provided they are relevant!

  1. Hey! Great to see another homeschooling/unschooling/ blogger around! I was beginning to think I was one of the only ones around, although my lack of searching probably caused that πŸ˜‰ Your blog is simply wonderful and your writing is really… how do I put it… makes it clear that you’ve been homeschooled? (I mean that in the best way, not the way that most people put it…) Lovely to hear your true words on homeschooling, especially your post ‘What Being Homeschooled is Like’. I can relate to every single one of the things you say, laughing at how commonly I get bombarded with those questions and how I actually think it’s normal and okay to interrogate someone like that… ah well….
Anyhow, great to read your blog!
    Peace,
    Amy

    • Hi Amy!!

I’m SO, SO sorry for not replying to your comment! I read it aaages ago and I meant to reply, I really did and I kept thinking about it, but I forgot 😦 Lame excuse, I know, but it’s true! I kept thinking I’d already replied and then, a few days ago I remembered and thought “I better check.” Then I saw that I hadn’t responded to you. Anyway, I’m really sorry 😦

Nice to meet you! I read your blog as well and I really like your writing. And the layout and photos are amazing. I’m so glad you liked my post “What Being Homeschooled Is Like.” Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog XD I think that we are amongst the only teen homeschoolers on WordPress? Most home-ed bloggers on here are the parents, rather than the kids. I searched for ages to find other home-ed kids on WP but couldn’t find any 😦 So I’m glad you found my blog.

Once again, sorry for waiting TILL THE NEXT YEAR to reply to you… Happy New Year!

      Lovely to meet you.

      Rock On,
      Jamila

  2. I also am hopeless at singing. In fact I am paid by pubs to sing at closing time to encourage those who are reluctant to leave to vacate the premises. It works and the pub is soon empty! Seriously, my education was very different from yours. As a blind child I went to boarding school. The classes where small which was wonderful as we got a lot of individual attention. However one of the main downsides was that I, as a blind child socialised only with other visually impaired children. The only non-disabled people where the staff although a minority of the teachers where also disabled. My education meant that I only socialised with disabled people (other than the teachers) during school term and it was only at university that I began to mix, fully with non-disabled people. Its healthy to mix with people of all backgrounds, races etc rather than confining oneself to a particular group which is, I guess one of the major criticisms I have of special education for children with disabilities. • Phew – so there are other people out there like me πŸ™‚ Haha, you’re joking about singing in pubs at closing times, right?!

I see – You’re definitely right about it being better to mix with all kinds of people; I totally agree with that! I have a question for you: Did people who didn’t go to your school ask you lots of stupid questions about it? Just because their school was different from yours? The reason I ask, it because being homeschooled means that everyone asks me a million-and-one stupid questions about my education. And it’s so tiresome having to answer them! Do you get something similar?

      Thanks for commenting πŸ™‚

    • OH wow, thank you so much!! That was such a surprise and I am really happy to accept the award. Do I answer the same questions that you were given?

Someone actually nominated me recently but I haven’t got round to doing that Liebster post yet πŸ™‚ So it looks like I will be posting TWO in the near future, and I can’t wait! Thank you so much for nominating me, I REALLY appreciate it. Look out for my post(s!) soon πŸ™‚ Grazie mille.

    • So sorry for not replying to you – that must have seemed really rude! I kept meaning to, really, but didn’t get round to it 😦 Just like I kept meaning to write another blog post but procrastination got in the way… I’ve been working on a project which has been taking up much of my writing time, will talk about that soon. Thank you for your concern, I’m fine and will be returning to blogging!

  5. Thank you for your like, little human soul. Hope you’ll find your visit to the Black Metal Clinic amusing, and please come back whenever you please.
Wish you an unpleasant black day full of dark thoughts.
